HER STORY

I went for a singles and married programme earlier this year, I loved and enjoyed it, i heard different stories of mothers and mother in-law, but I never understood how they felt until I met a young married lady who told me her story.
She says she is his happily married to her husband and sadly married to her mother-in-law. In all the little years they have been married that her husband has always been an anchor for her, but annoys her sometimes when it comes to making decision about their homes. She told me several stories and examples of things and decision about their home and her husband comes up with suggestions like "lets wait and discuss this with momsi". Funny enough when her mother in-law came over, her husband and his mother first had a closed door meeting then invited her into the room to brief her on their decision. I laughed when she told me this because I found it difficult to understand. I tried to console her by telling her its probably for her good, but she convinced me by telling me that she is definitely sure she is a piece a furniture sometimes, a wife sometimes and then a mother.
She is so sad and down trodden, she said she has decided to not speak about anything in her house since she is to be seen and not heard. I feel for her but I do not know how to help her. So sad.
